The MPEI department of high voltage engineering and electrophysics turns 85

Abstract

The article presents the establishment history and describes the development of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute's (Technical University) department of high voltage engineering and electrophysics. The role the department plays in educating qualified specialists in the field of high voltage engineering is pointed out together with significant advances the department's staff have achieved in scientific activities carried out in the most important lines of modern high voltage engineering, as well as in preparing textbooks. The most prominent specialists graduated from the department are mentioned.
