Abstract

The possibility of using the hydropower resources of industrial enterprise watercourses in contrast to conventional approaches to selecting watercourses for setting up small hydroelectric power plants (HPP) is considered. The watercourses used at enterprises of various industry branches were examined, and the obtained results have confirmed the technical and economic feasibility of using them for electricity generation purposes. Innovative technical and design solutions opening the possibility to construct small HPPs operating on the water streams discharged from power enterprises have been developed and are at various implementation stages. The main process equipment for electricity generation by using the industrial enterprise watercourses and for implementing the proposed design solutions has been developed and is manufactured in Russia.
